Overseas sales boost Omega
Ahead of interim results next month, the Alva-based company said its revenues had risen to 3.3 million and that it was now selling its testing kits in more than 100 countries. The rise in sales was driven by the "Food Detective" kit in the Middle East and Far East and the Genarrayt kit in countries including Brazil and India.
Finance director Kieron Harbinson told The Scotsman that Omega would continue with its acquisitions strategy, looking for products it can sell alongside its own kits through existing sales channels.
The Food Detective and Gearrayt kits were acquired in 2007 when Omega took over Genesis Diagnostics and Cambridge Nutritional Sciences.
