Fife native Wilson won two World Darts Championships in 1982 and 1989, and was known for his hard-drinking lifestyle and charismatic manner.
Films of London - a production company founded by two of the producers behind the 2010 version of Robin Hood and the film adaptation of Atonement - announced its first slate of titles set for pre-production, including the darts project entitled Jocky.

Hide AdJason Underhill, the company’s founder, said: “We plan to work with the UK’s most talented screenwriters and script developers to devise projects with lasting quality.”
A documentary on Wilson’s life - Kirkcaldy Man - won the Golden Dove award at the Leipzig Documentary Film Festival in 2011.
Wilson became a virtual recluse after his retirement from darts in 1995, and died at home in Kirkcaldy in 2012.
