Airline Jazz. You can get some really good tunes on the way down. But, really, I've always thought lifejackets on a plane was a lot like helmets on a high speed motorcycle-good for dna identification only.

Yet another case of passengers and safety second for airlines.
Their cavalier attitude is typified and clearly stated by this article.

None but they would claim that passengers can swim 50 miles
or
If they ditch in the sea they will not survive anyway
or
They can float on a cushion.

It also shows how Aviation Safety institutions are complicit in this cavalier approach to safety.

How much does an airline life jacket weigh?
Why not remove 1kg baggage allowance per passenger? Say 19KG each. That would more than compensate. Or charge each passenger a €1 life jacket tax?
Or, just simply, put prices up/accept lower overall profits and stop being greedy!

They should change their name to Impact Airlines and head for the hills!

It's sensible. Modern passenger planes with their large low hanging engines can't land on water. Yes it is about saving money but there are more effective ways to improve safety.

Maybe they should cut down the baggage allowance of obviously overweight passengers. It seems unfair that as they are much heavier, they are allowed the same allowance as normal weight passengers.
