A MAJOR character in The Simpsons is to be killed off in the latest series of the hit US cartoon, it has been reported.
The news was broken to the Canada Sun Times by executive producer Al Jean, who did not confirm which character was set to leave.
Jean did however hint that the actor playing the character has won an Emmy for their performance.
Sadly, this does little to help solve the mystery, as the show has won 25 Emmy’s for voiceover performances in the last 21 years.
Sideshow Bob, played by Kelsey Grammer, is currently the bookmakers’ favourite to leave, with odds of 7/2. Abe Simpson is 4/1, Krusty the Clown is 6/1, Edna Krabappel is 13.2, and Moe Szyslak is at 7/1.
