T in the Park fans who had paid a deposit to secure tickets for the festival’s 20th anniversary had a shock yesterday when it appeared their money had vanished.
Festival-goers looking to secure a ticket for next year’s festival in July were offered the chance by organisers to pay a £50 deposit to secure their brief for the event.
However when many of fans who had paid the down-payment logged on to repay the remainder of the £179 ticket, their deposit did not register on the system due to a technical glitch.
A spokesman for Ticketmaster said : “A small number of T in the Park customers who had chosen to take part in the deposit scheme were incorrectly charged the full balance in addition to their deposit for their tickets.
“Ticketmaster noticed this issue during the banking process and immediately refunded the deposit back into the customers’ accounts.
“We would like to reassure those fans affected that the remaining balance will appear in their accounts automatically within the next few working days.
“We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
