A GULF War veteran was jailed for eight years today after carrying out two sex attacks on the same victim within days of each other.
Raymond Jude of Musselburgh was earlier convicted of assaulting the victim between 2002 and 2007 when she was a teenager.

He sent her indecent text messages and made comments and molested her on various occasions.

On November 19 last year, Jude, 41, carried out a sex attack on the woman with intent to rape her near Fa'side Castle.

On November 30 he carried out a further sex assault on the victim at Lewisfield Park, Musselburgh.

Jude, who has been in prison since December, had denied the offences, but was unanimously convicted by a jury. Judge Lord Emslie ordered that he be kept under supervision for a further three years after release.
