GERMAN measles and whooping cough were among the unusual infections caught in the Lothians in the last week.
Statistics released by Health Protection Scotland show that one instance of each infection was registered in the area, as well as four cases of bacillary dysentery – a water-borne bug originating from developing countries.
Unusually, there were no cases of chickenpox in the Lothians, against 23 reported last week and 207 nationally this week.
NHS Lothian also moved off the top of the food poisoning league, falling behind Glasgow this week.
