Published Date: 07 October 2008
WEST Lothian Council has voiced its opposition to proposed parliamentary boundary changes which have been described as a "Frankenstein's monster".
The proposal would see Whitburn and Fauldhouse become part of a new Lanark, Shotts and Whitburn constituency along with parts of North and South Lanarkshire.

The Electoral Reform Society has called the plan a "Frankenstein's monster" and the council argued that the communities of Whitburn, Fauldhouse and Longridge have no historical affinity or social links with those parts of North and South Lanarkshire with which it has been joined in the proposed constituency.

Giving evidence at a Boundary Commission for Scotland local inquiry, councillor Martyn Day, the council's development and transport leader, and chief legal officer Gordon Blair said there was strong resentment over the changes.

Cllr Day said: "There is unanimous opposition."

Are you just a low life or is it a case of Catholic bigotry here, Oh bless or are you someone who does not no what a church looks like, far less the inside.

You obviously have no respect for an organization that follows the bible.

Equal rights, in religion, politics and race, one Scotland many cultures.

Sectarian cretin that you are.

Unanimous opposition? What, from the public?

#6. That will be "KNOW what a church looks like".

And what bible would that be, the one that says "love thy neighbour"? Tell me, how many of your Catholic neighbours are members of the orange lodge?

How many of your fellow Hearts fans do not partake in sectarian chanting. Lets face it, your all just Rankers fans in disguise!

And finally, I'm a fully paid up member of the Church of Scotland, and have been since 1984.

How does the song go... "It was at the Whitburn Cross, when the Pope fell off his horse, and..."

Disgraceful!

1. That bible be the Old Testament and the New testament and the religion would be church Scotland asshole

2. Brought up Baptist as a child, I know right from wrong

3. Taught to respect all religions and cultures including practices that are not the same as my own. Something you know nothing about.

4. Not from Whitburn, but you don’t seem to state where you live.

5. Never even heard of your little chorus, but you seem to know all the words.

6. You obviously have not respect for all cultures and faiths

7. Your obviously the one who has no respect for your
Neighbours not me.

8. "Love thy neighbor"? Respect all cultures and faiths, regardless of your beliefs and practices, something you know nothing about, Christian you do not have a Christian bone in your body or you would keep your hatred to yourself.

9. Who mentioned football teams here, it was not me.

10. Plenty of Hibs fans partake in sectarian chanting, so that’s rich coming from you. I myself do not. Do you?

Once again, equal rights, in religion, politics and race. One Scotland many cultures.

You are the Disgrace, tarring and feathering people because of their religious beliefs and the football team that they support!

Worship within the Church of Scotland is for everybody, regardless of age, nationality, status or ability. Patterns of worship vary from church to church and this generally means that people can find a place of worship where they feel comfortable.

Once again you are the Disgrace, tarring and feathering people because of their religious beliefs and the football team that they support!

Sad, so sad!

Ta ta!

ps, I'm from Bathgate. Even though I'm COS, I class myself a Chrisitan. I like in your previous post you accuse me of "Catholic Bigatory".

Tel me how did you arrive at this statement?

I have friends and family from Whitburn, Armadale and Blackridge.

West Lothian is full of bigory so what am I suppose to think.

I myself am sick of it and the article said nothing about orange marches.

Gorgie Finest,

I read this sort of stuff and understand why I'm an aetheist.
Your blind faith to religion is scary.

And this "fight" starts over an article about boundary changes? Look in the mirror people...
