Yeh, like Cleese's "comic touch" really worked for that Sainsbury's ad campaign didn't it?

Good idea! Cleese can fabricate a background as well as the candidate his own self.

"Rumor has it that American Conservatives would like to see Manuel as Vice President. . . ."

...Too late Manuel is already the president.

I guess that we can look forward to Obama beating a dead bird against a store counter.

I'm not sure that this would constitute much of a change.

Big deal! Yet another example of someone jumping on the bandwagon to self promote.

Spam! Spam! Spam! Spam! This is all just a bunch of Span. Unfortunately some of you people have no sense of humor, so probably anything Cleese wrote would be lost on you anyway. You'd better get used to saying President O'Bama. He's the first great thing to happen to American politics in decades. The status quo shall live no more!

Seems to be a number of people who aren't Obama fans.

Oh well, that's their prerogative and I guess at least some of them will use their vote to express it.

For me, I like the man. I like the idea of a president who is inspirational and who expresses big ideas - with the intention of picking a cabinet to implement those ideas. I distrust a candidate who claims to have 'the answer' to every problem chucked at them along the campaign trail. Instead, I'd welcome - for a change - someone who states principles and challenges the United States to live up to those principles.

Didn't John Cleese help with writing the labour party's strategy and manifesto?

It would be funny it it wasn't true.

He could write for Bendy - for a short while. Or for Jackie Bailey as the Meenister for funny walks? He could base himself in the Faitherland, Ben Dover Hoose, London, England.

1st and foremost, people need to stop being idiots and preaching hate bologna about Obama. He is a Christian man, and by trying to sway people to turn against him by repeating that he's a Muslim over and over makes you sound like a hater. First, that you are trying to paint Obama as a terrorist offends me greatly, and secondly that you are painting all Muslims as terrorists offends me more. Terrorists are terrorists and it is not exclusive to race or religion, and their goal is to hate and terrorize. Obama represents the Constitutional Americans that would like their country back from these corporate raiders that have hijacked it. If you don't like him, fine, but stop lying about some lame fear tactics than are aimed at the baser kind of thinking that MANY of us are far beyond. That being said........ I love both John Cleese and Barack Obama. Both of these men have influenced my life in very different ways. I would love to see Obama gallop onto the stage clacking coconut halves... lol...

But how will the Scotland office manage without him?
Poor Des Browne is going to have to get Lord Foulkes to write for him.
