GAS and electricity users received another warning of impending price increases when Britain's second-largest supplier said it was becoming "more difficult by the day" to resist pressure to raise charges.
Ian Marchant, the chief executive of Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), said the full impact on power prices of the global "energy shock" had still to be felt.

SSE, which is second to British Gas with nearly nine million customers, last increased its charges in April, the first for more than a year.

The Perth-based firm admitted it was now losing money in supplying gas and electricity to consumers because of increases in wholesale prices.

Dragging a couple of city traders from their desks and giving them a good hiding in the street might result in a more stable energy market.
It could teach them the direct link between constantly hitting the "buy" button and pain in the real world.

Excellent appraisal! A good public flogging would do them and us a good turn. Now that oil prices are going down any chance of gas and electricity going down too as the "are linked" as we are constantly told. And if you believe that you'll be right into the Tooth Fairy.

#1 Is there a queue for this? I can bring my own stick.

What will they do when people can't afford any more? Oh wait, that is already the case.

I think we should take any elderly casualties this winter (and there will be thousands) down to their offices and see how "rich" they feel then. Actually it would be a waste of time as they have no conscience at all.
