Published Date: 08 October 2008
THE Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg, reshuffled his front-bench team yesterday.
Three MPs who quit the front-bench earlier this year to vote in favour of a referendum on the EU's Lisbon treaty make a return –

Alistair Carmichael (Orkney and Shetland) to the Scotland and Northern Ireland brief, Tim Farron to environment, food and rural affairs, and David Heath to lead a commission on privacy.

In other changes, Steve Webb, the former environment spokesman, will shadow the new energy and climate change department, and Sarah Teather moves from business to housing. Her old business portfolio goes to John Thurso (Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross).

LibDem leader we've never heard of, shuffles pack of politicians we've never heard of.

Interesting.

A nation shrugs?

Good to see that giant scrotal sack Carmichael back to the FibDems front bench. The man is a perfect representative of the 4th party of Scotland. He reminds me somewhat of Baron Foulkes but without the humour and with more stupidity and self-belief. Also, a combined brief or NI & Scotland shows what the FidBems think of Scotland.

In truth, no-one cares. The FibDems are being squeezed and are increasingly irrelevant. Excellent.

Not sure how 3 mps can quit over a matter of principle and then return when the issue they resigned over is unchanged.
