MOTHERWELL captain Paul Quinn insists their first European campaign in 13 years will provide a perfect shop window for the club's increasingly coveted personnel to showcase their talent.
The Fir Park club will play in the UEFA Cup next season after clinching third spot in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League under manager Mark McGhee.
Defender Mark Reynolds has been the subject of a failed bid by Rangers recently although striker Ro
ss McCormack is expected to leave the Lanarkshire club before the start of the season.
Quinn, 22, believes a good run in the UEFA Cup can help everyone at Fir Park achieve their ambitions. He said: "We have the UEFA Cup to look forward to, which is massive, and which will give us an extra edge every single day in training.
"We have to win one tie to get in to the group stages and if we can manage to do that then it can set us up for the rest of the season. Every time you play in a European tie, half of Europe is watching. If you do well in those games, who knows where your career may end up?
"I want to get away to a bigger club as does everybody, that is the aim. But for now, the job is to keep the squad together, maybe add one or two to it and go forward towards the UEFA Cup.
"You watch European football in the house on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. How good would it be out of the house and playing in it?
"It would be remarkable, especially for a club that hasn't done so much recently in Europe. It shows how much the club has moved forward."
Motherwell finished behind champions Celtic and Rangers in the SPL and Quinn reluctantly admits that improving upon third place is unlikely next season.
He said: "Realistically, with the money they have, the Old Firm shouldn't be split. We clung on to them for a long time last season and after Christmas people start to get nervous.
"There is no pressure on us and we will give it a go but realistically the first two places should be spoken for again."
