Shock rise in road accident claims

There was a “staggering” 18 per cent rise in road accident personal injury claims in the UK last year, a report has shown.

The increase came despite a 11 per cent fall in road accidents and is likely to mean a rise in insurance premiums for drivers, the report from the Actuarial Profession revealed.

The rise in bodily-injury claims was the highest ever.
