Policeman hurt in hit–and–run incident

A POLICE officer was taken to hospital after he was knocked down in a hit-and-run incident.

The officer was performing a routine stop on a vehicle in Chatham, Kent, on Saturday evening when he was hit by a vehicle as he got out of his car. The vehicle was driven off and was later found abandoned.
