Man dies after being hit by bus

A PEDESTRIAN died after being hit by a bus in Aberdeenshire yesterday.

The man died at the scene on the A96, around two miles south of Keith.

The bus was operated by Stagecoach Bluebird and was carrying 25 passengers.

The A96 was closed in both directions while police carried out a crash investigation.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 11:30am.

A Stagecoach spokesman said: “Our immediate thoughts are with the family of the man who has died.

“There were no injuries to anyone travelling on the bus. We will be assisting the police in any way we can as part of their investigation into the incident.”
