Children injured in camper van crash

Eight people including four children have been taken to hospital after a crash involving a van, lorry and camper van.

The accident happened two miles west of Creetown in Dumfries and Galloway at around 3am yesterday.

Three adults and four children from the camper van are in Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary with various injuries.

The driver of the van was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries. The lorry driver was not injured. A Dumfries and Galloway police spokesman appealed for anyone 
nearby at the time to come 
forward.

He said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the crash to get in touch.

“Road diversions to take traffic around the crash have been put in place and drivers are asked, if possible, to avoid the area until the road is 
reopened.”
