Tennis: Fleming out

COLIN Fleming and Ross Hutchins had the distinction of winning a set 6-0 against Mike and Bob Bryan, but the Americans had the final say to move into the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles.

The British 15th seeds acquitted themselves superbly on Margaret Court Arena, but the three-time defending champions in Melbourne dug in to progress 6-4, 0-6, 6-2.

The first set was decided by a solitary break in the seventh game before Fleming and Hutchins hit back in sensational fashion. They claimed the Bryans’ serve twice more to clinch the “bagel”, but the top seeds regrouped and found a way to win.
