Glasgow U15s are top Scots in Bolton

TENNIS: The High School of Glasgow’s under-15 team of brothers Murray and Hamish Stewart, James Shemilt and Calum Gibson-Smith produced a great effort to finish runners-up to Millfield at the AEGON British Team Challenge in Bolton.

In a high quality competition, the boys defeated Ellesmere College and University College School.

The other three Scottish teams that won the North of Britain titles in Leeds last month all finished in third place out of the four qualifying teams.

In the under-13 girls, George Heriot’s Gabriella Hussey and sisters Tori, Charlotte and Jessica Mair beat Bedford Girls to take third place.

In the girls’ under-15s, Strathallan School’s Amber Paterson, Francesca Blair, Vanessa Stewart and Anni Arthur overcame Putney High School.

Merchiston Castle’s under-13 team of Mackenzie Cox, Cameron Bowie, Jacob Fearnely and Alex Mikeev defeated Lancaster School.
