Basketball: Davis inspires Rocks to win over Wildcats
Glasgow Rocks boss Sterling Davis fired 30 points last night to lead his side to a 99-73 victory at Durham Wildcats. It made it seven wins in a row in the British Basketball League for the in-form Scots, who are now within four points of leaders Leicester.
It was Davis who lit the spark by scoring 26 in the first half as lowly Durham were taken apart.
The American said: “We want to keep this run going. But the games are going to get a little tougher over the next while. So we have to use that to challenge ourselves to keep getting better.”
Donald Robinson added 17 points and eight assists for Glasgow who never trailed after pulling clear with a 12-3 run in the opening quarter.
Elsewhere, champions Newcastle kept their title bid alive with a 96-79 defeat of Plymouth.
