Saltman aiming to round off fine week

europro tour: Archerfield’s Elliot Saltman, who qualified for the Open Championship earlier this week, is now chasing victory in the Audi Cork Irish Masters at Fota Island.

He heads into today’s final round sharing the lead with Rita Batibasaga and Stuart Manley on four-under after 36 holes of the seventh event of the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour season.

Saltman started at the tenth and made four birdies on his front nine. He added to that with a four at the par-5 fourth but bogeyed the seventh to sign for a 67.

Grantown-on-Spey’s Duncan Stewart is also in contention. He’s among five players just a shot off the lead after carding a second-round 68.

Overnight leader Michael Collins (Mallow Golf Range) shot a 74 on day two and is three shots off the pace.
