EUROPEAN Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal is happy with the momentum behind his team ahead of the tournament at Medinah, Illinois next week.

In an interview with three-time captain and good friend Bernard Gallacher, Olazabal also shared some of his favourite Ryder Cup memories.

During the conversation, Olazabal commented: “I am looking forward to the Ryder Cup, as I’m sure do all golf professionals, as it’s one of the main events in the annual golfing calendar and the one which brings out everyone’s competitive spirit.”

“In regards to the European team, many of the players have competed in previous Ryder Cups and so it’s a very strong, experienced team.”

“The most important thing in the run up to the Ryder Cup is momentum and the last few weeks we have done so well with Rory winning the US PGA, Sergio winning on the US PGA tour and Paul Lawrie’s recent win.”

The Ryder Cup takes begins next Tuesday.
