Macaulay moves up in El Valle Open

Hi5 TOUR: Callum Macaulay moved from joint 25th to a share of eighth place with a three-under round of 68 on the second day of the Hi5 Pro Tour’s El Valle Open in south-east Spain yesterday. The Tulliallan man improved by eight shots on his first round, thanks to birdies at the fourth, sixth, 11th and 16th with only one blemish, a bogey at the 11th. Macaulay is eight shots behind the English leader, James Maw on 136. Scott Hendry (Cardross), with one round to go, is in joint 14th place after a 71, which included a double bogey 6 at the 13th, for 145.

Greig Hutcheon (Banchory) returned a 70 for 146 to be in joint 19th place. Scott Henderson (Kings Links) ran up a 9 at the par-4 11th in a 77 for 153 and a share of 36th place. Fraserburgh amateur Justin Duff made the cut on the limit mark of 155.
