Khodabakhsh is new LET chief executive

LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR: The man at the heart of a Newsnight investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the boxing finals heading into the London Olympics has been appointed as the LET’s new chief executive officer.

Ivan Khodabakhsh, currently CEO of World Series Boxing and previously event director at the European Athletic Association, he will succeed Alexandra Armas, who is stepping down after nearly eight years in the job.

In the LET’s season-ending event, the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, China’s world No 6 Shanshan Feng takes a five-stroke lead into today’s final round after a third-day 67.

And, in the bid to earn spots on next year’s circuit, Heather MacRae (69) and Kelsey MacDonald (67) are sitting third and fourth respectively in their pre-qualifiers in Morocco.
