Graeme Brown secures win at windy West Lothian
GRAEME Brown claimed the biggest win of his career by overhauling halfway leader Keir McNicoll in the final two rounds of the Scottish Young Professionals Championship at windy West Lothian.
The Montrose man closed with rounds of 70 and 73 to claim the £1,000 top prize with a level-par total of 284.
Kilmacolm’s Michael Patterson took second spot with a closing 69 and Gullane trainee McNicoll finished third after a 75.
Meanwhile, Duncan Stewart holds a three-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Sweetspot Masters at Hunley Hall in Yorkshire as he bids to record back-to-back wins on the PGA EuroPro Tour.
The Grantown-on-Spey player followed up his opening 65 with a 68 to sit on 13-under-par.
Stewart is second on the EuroPro Tour money-list and will close in on leader Stuart Manley if he picks up the £10,000 top prize as well securing a step up to next year’s Challenge Tour.
