Golfer trumps his partner’s ace

TWO club golfers playing The Lakes – which will host the Australian Open next month – hit consecutive holes-in-one on the par-3 ninth hole yesterday.

Peter Hough and Jonathan Cook had the back-to-back aces with Hough, a member at The Lakes, holing out first on the 136-yard hole. Both used 7-irons.

Cook said: “The whole place went nuts.”

The National Hole in One Registry website in the United States quotes the odds of two players from the same foursome acing the same hole as 17 million to one.
