Golf: Two new faces get nod for Cardiff trip

Anglo-Scot Nicola Callander and Eilidh Watson (Muckhart) are the new caps in the Scotland team named for the Under-18 Girls’ Home Internationals at Radyr GC, Cardiff from 7 to 9 August.

They are added to the six-strong squad – Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies), Jessica Meek (Carnoustie Ladies), Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies), Rachel Walker (Dumfries & Co), Lauren Whyte (St Regulus) and Clara Young (North Berwick) – who played for Scotland in the European girls’ team championship in Germany earlier this month.

Callander made her debut in the Scottish Girls Championship at Crail last week when she reached the last eight. Watson reached the semi-finals of the Scottish women’s amateur championship at Tain in May.
