Golf: Scots quartet tied 15th in Hungary

EUROPEAN YOUNG MASTERS: Scotland’s quartet of Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie), George Burns (Williamwood), Lauren Whyte (St Regulus) and Clara Young (North Berwick) are in 15th position after two rounds of the European Young Masters tournament at Royal Balaton Golf and Yacht Club, Hungary.

The Scots’ running total is 466 – 36 behind leaders Italy who have a six-shot advantage over Spain.

Neil grabbed a share of 11th place in the boys’ section after posting scores of 78 and 70 for a total of 148.

Burns has so far shot rounds of 79-82 for 161 and a share of 35th place.

In the girls’ section, Whyte carded 80-77 for 157 and a share of 23rd place.

Young is joint 45th on 176 after a pair of 88s.
