Golf: New pro Pamela Pretswell eyes Euro Tour

PAMELA Pretswell, the sole Scot in Great Britain & Ireland’s winning Walker Cup team at Nairn last month, has turned professional with immediate effect.

The 23-year-old Bothwell Castle player has left the amateur ranks to concentrate on the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS).

She has already tasted success on that circuit, becoming the first amateur to win on it when recording a two-shot victory in the Ljunbyhed Park PGA Ladies Open in Sweden this season.

Currently sitting second on the order of merit, Pretswell needs to finish in the top three to secure a card for the Ladies European Tour next season.

She came close to achieving that for this season at the Qualifying School in January and has gained valuable experience by playing six LETAS events since then.

Her first event as professional will be this week’s Norwegian Challenge.
