SPL Fanzone: Celtic
FOLLOWING a solid victory at Tynecastle in midweek, a bizarre refereeing performance could have proved costly on Saturday.
Not only was Daniel Majstorovic’s red carding an appallingly bad decision but, once again, Richie Foran appeared to be wearing Ian Black’s cloak of invisibility. Despite persistent fouling and grabbing Scott Brown in a headlock, he was immune to a deserved second yellow. There is a period of downsizing coming for Celtic but all of Scottish football is going to pay the price for Rangers’ avarice. The new owner cannot be allowed to compound the mistakes of the old owner, fold up the tents and open a new circus completely free from the financial doping that they have benefited from. The sporting integrity of football must prevail and, if that means no Rangers games for three years as they start again in the Third Division, so be it.
