SCOTT Robinson has signed a new two-year contract following a busy day of business at Hearts – just weeks after it looked like his Tynecastle career could be over.

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2015, while hot prospect Billy King has agreed the same length of contract after making five impressive top-team appearances since the turn of the year.

Brad McKay, 19, has signed a one-year deal after impressing during a loan spell at Stenhousemuir this season.

The trio follow the likes of Kevin McHattie, Dale Carrick and Jack Hamilton in prolonging their stays in Gorgie in spite of the financial restraints afflicting the club.

It is a remarkable turnaround for Robinson, who looked like he could be on his way out of Hearts after refusing to take his place on the bench for an SPL encounter against Aberdeen in December.

However, after serving a week-long suspension imposed by manager John McGlynn, the player apologised and the hatchet appears to have been buried. A more immediate concern for Robinson, however, is the knee injury which threatens to force him into an operation.

He will visit a specialist this week and could face surgery on a torn meniscus, which would rule him out of the League Cup final on 17 March and potentially jeopardise the rest of his season.
