Rangers: On-loan Juanma Ortiz shocked to be left in limbo

RANGERS loan winger Juanma Ortiz admits he has no idea whether he will still be able to go back to Glasgow. The Spanish midfielder is back in his homeland on loan at Second Division side Almeria.

Ortiz was left shocked by the news that Rangers were in administration. And he admits he’s been left in football limbo. He said: “I haven’t been told at all what is happening and I am still trying to find out. No-one at Rangers has told me what is going on.

“I am supposed to go back to Scotland at the end of the season, but I don’t know if I will still have a club to go back to. It’s a very worrying situation, especially as Rangers are still paying part of my wages. All I can do at the moment is keep playing here and try not to think of what is happening in Scotland.”

Meanwhile, Swedish side Orebro have offered Rangers reject Alejandro Bedoya a return to their club. The American international has started just three league games for the SPL champions since signing in August in a £400,000 move.

Now his former club in Sweden have told him he is welcome to return there if Rangers’ financial meltdown gets even worse.

Orebro’s sporting director Lennart Sjogren said: “Alejandro is a fantastic person and player, and he’s always welcome back to Orebro. We have not been in direct contact with him since he left, but we have following his progress closely.

“If he decides to leave, we would welcome the chance to bring him back to Orebro.”
