JORDAN RHODES was Scotland’s stand-out figure, contributing two goals to the game, but how did other players, including several debutants, fare?

Matt Gilks

Held a first-half header from Mario Mutch but almost palmed Bensi’s header into the net after the interval. Helpless at goal. 6/10

Steven Whittaker

Needs games after injury and it showed at times but he was still comfortable throughout. 6/10

Paul Dixon

Got forward into some excellent attacking positions from left-back and supplied cross for opening goal. Again looked suited to international level. 8/10

Grant Hanley

Fairly sold defensive display from the young Blackburn centre-back. 6/10

Christophe Berra

Not as commanding as he can be, perhaps unsettled without Gary Caldwell or Andy Webster beside him in defence. 6/10

Darren Fletcher

Slightly subdued display from the captain, who players would have looked to for inspiration during a poor second half. 6/10

Charlie Mulgrew

Protected the back four and used the ball well. Taken off at half-time. 6/10

Andrew Shinnie

Got forward for the shot which rebounded for Rhodes to score his second goal. Looked more than comfortable. 7/10

Steven Naismith

Plenty of energy from the Everton man, who caused most problems after the break. 7/10

Kenny Miller

Used as link between midfield and attack. Should have scored from one-two with Naismith in first half. 7/10

Jordan Rhodes

Two goals and another ruled out for offside. The Blackburn striker must be a first pick for qualifiers next year. 9/10

Liam Kelly (for Mulgrew, 46)

International debut for Kilmarnock midfielder, who competed well. 5/10

Leigh Griffiths (for Shinnie, 70)

SPL’s top scorer won his first cap and was desperate to score. 4/10

Murray Davidson (for Rhodes, 89)

First St Johnstone player to play for Scotland for 80 years. No time to make an impact. 1/10
