All those in favour of sacking the boss

BERNARD Challandes has quit as coach of Swiss top-tier club FC Thun after his team voted against him. Challandes asked the players if they still had confidence in him after a 3-0 loss to Lausanne-Sports and Thun said in a statement that a “big majority” of the players gave their answer with Thun ninth in the ten-team division. Challandes’s former assistant, Mauro Lustrinelli, will pick the team until the midseason break.

Challandes had previously guided Zurich to the title in 2009 and into a Champions League group including Real Madrid and Milan.
