Weather delays couple’s rescue

TWO people were rescued from a Scottish mountain after weather conditions kept emergency crews back for hours.

Central Scotland Police said they were called at 4:20pm on Thursday after the pair got into difficulty on Ben More, Crianlarich.

A Royal Navy helicopter was deployed but was unable to rescue the 25-year-old man and 21-year-old woman because of “extreme” conditions.

Killin Mountain Rescue Team found the pair at about 9:15pm and safely brought them off the hill by 11:55pm. The man and woman, both from Lancashire, were uninjured.
