TWO men have died in separate hit-and-run incidents in Scotland at the weekend.

One of the men had been walking home from a night out in Ayrshire while another is believed to have been lying in a bus lane when he was run over by a car. Police are appealing for witnesses to both incidents to trace the drivers responsbile.

Ian Brown, 48, was found dead on the Dailly to Girvan road in Ayrshire at about 3.05am on Saturday while the second man, in his 30s, died in hospital after suffering head and internal injuries when he was struck by a car in a bus lane in Ocean Drive, Leith, Edinburgh, just before 2am Sunday morning.

The car involved in the Leith death is said to have suffered considerable damage that would be easily visible to possible witnesses.
