Seven chiefs for new national emergency service announced
THE senior firefighters who will lead the new national emergency service, when it is launched in April, have been named.
Alex Clark, formerly the chief in Lothian and Borders, will be the new deputy chief officer, on an annual salary of £132,000.
He will report to Alasdair Hay, who was unveiled earlier this year as the man who will lead the new service.
Five new assistant chief officers have also been named: David Boyle and Peter Murray, formerly of Tayside; and David Goodhew, Lewis Ramsey and Robert Scott, all previously of Strathclyde.
The assistants will all earn £123,750 a year.
