‘Publish horrific report of care homes abuse’
A REPORT into sex abuse claims at children’s homes across North Wales included allegations of rape, torture and bestiality, an MP said yesterday.
Labour MP Ann Clwyd said she had read the report by John Jillings before it was pulped, as she called for an over-arching inquiry into the sexual abuse of children.
The report, commissioned by Clwyd County Council, was pulped on the insistence of its insurers, but the MP for Cynon Valley said it must now be published.
She said she interviewed four victims of sexual abuse at care homes and was told stories that had shocked her.
Ms Clwyd said: “I cannot describe the horror of what they described to me. I know I felt very emotionally upset by what they had to say.
“I would say please get the Jillings Report published, because it shows buggery, rape, bestiality, violent assaults and torture
“The effects on those young boys at that time cannot be underestimated.”
