Police searching Highlands for missing Inverness man find body
Police searching for a 26-year-old man missing in the Highlands for 11 days yesterday (Tue) found a body in city woodland.
mark McMillan, of picturesque Abriachan, overlooking Loch Ness, was last seen in Inverness on 6 November.
Northern Constabulary confirmed a man’s body was discovered just before 12.30pm by police sniffer dogs within a wooded area near to Whin Park in the Bught area of the Highland capital.
A spokesman said: “The body was found during searches for missing man Mark McMillan. Next of kin have been advised of this development.
“A post mortem will be carried out and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Mr McMillan had been working in the Castle Hotel in Huntly as a chef until 10 September.
His parents, Andrew and Marion McMcMillan, who last heard from their son on 20 September made an appeal last week for him to get in touch to say he was safe and well.
