Police plea over death of man

POLICE were last night trying to establish the last moments of a 56-year-old man found unconscious at the back of a community centre.

Officers are investigating the death of John McDonald in Aberdeen, which they are treating as unexplained. He was found at the back of Cummings Park Community Centre in Northfield at around 8am yesterday.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but later died.

Detective Inspector Richie Guild said: “We know Mr McDonald was in a local licensed premises on Thursday evening. We would like to establish his movements during Thursday and until he was found on Friday morning.”

Mr McDonald, who lived locally, was last seen wearing a green anorak.
