Murdered man’s widow sues for £1.7m

A WEALTHY businessman who hired a gunman to murder his brother is being sued for £1.76 million by the victim’s widow.

Saimah Siddique, 33, has made the claim on behalf of herself and her three children, and in recognition of the pain and suffering felt by Toby Siddique, 38, when he was shot.

Yesterday, a judge granted an order to Mrs Siddique, banning her brother-in-law, Mo Siddique, 42, from disposing of any assets while the case against him went through court.

Her lawyers had told Lord Menzies in the Court of Session in Edinburgh that she feared he would try to defeat her claim by concealing possessions.

Last month, Siddique, of Auchtertool, Fife, was jailed for life and ordered to serve at least 25 years for his role in the murder of Toby Siddique, of Kirkcaldy, on 24 October, 2010.

A trial heard the brothers had fallen out over property businesses they ran in Fife.
