Murder probe launched after Edinburgh shooting

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was shot at a block of flats.

The body of the victim,
believed to have been in this 30s, was found in a sixth-floor flat in Hawkhill Close, in the Leith area of Edinburgh, at about 8:15pm on Tuesday.

He was shot in the abdomen, Lothian and Borders Police said.

A cordon has been set up around the building while forensic and other
examinations are carried out. The force’s Superintendent, Matt Richards, said: “Inquiries are continuing at the scene.

“I would like to thank
residents and local people for their patience while we remain in the area.”
