DR WHO star Karen Gillan yesterday endorsed breastfeeding and said she planned to go down the natural route if she has children.

Gillan was presenting a Unicef Baby Friendly Award to NHS Highland staff at a ceremony in Inverness. The Inverness-born actress, who was presented with a tartan rug at the event, admitted she was a “guzzler” as an infant, adding: “I was enormous, nothing like I am now. It’s breast-feeding for me.”

Baby Friendly is a programme that aims to support, promote and encourage women to breastfeed while also ensuring that health professionals have the skills to provide the best education and support.
