Glasgow leg of Britain’s Got Talent roadshow met by rain
THOUSANDS of fans braved the miserable weather yesterday and turned out for the live auditions of Britain’s Got Talent in Glasgow.
Audience members hit out at show organisers after they were forced to queue for hours in torrential rain to get their hands on tickets at the Clyde Auditorium.
Two fans were taken ill in the queue outside of the venue and were taken inside by first-aiders.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon made the journey to Glasgow for the ITV1 show, hoping to find the next Susan Boyle.
Comedian Walliams was the first to arrive and posed for pictures with fans before heading inside – but he was the only judge to enter the building through the front door. Fed-up fans were finally let inside the venue before Alesha Dixon, who wore a green dress with a tartan jacket and held a Union Jack umbrella, arrived and entered the venue via a back door.
Simon Cowell finally arrived in his chauffeur-driven Jaguar to complete the star-studded panel. But fans were less than impressed after being forced to stand in the wet and cold waiting for the famous faces to turn up.
“You expect the weather to be bad but you don’t expect to have to wait outside for so long standing in it,” said Lynsey McKelvie, 23, from Hamilton.
