Fight no flights say Scottish ministers

SCOTTISH ministers have accused their UK counterparts of failing to protect Scottish flights to and from Heathrow in a new aviation policy document published yesterday.

Transport minister Keith Brown wants flights to the world’s busiest international airport ring fenced to prevent further cuts after some flights from Edinburgh and Aberdeen are axed in October.

British Airways, which has a monopoly on Scotland-Heathrow flights after taking over rival BMI, will switch some of the cities’ landing slots at Heathrow to more lucrative long-haul routes.
