Dog-walker park death investigated
A MAN found collapsed in a city park has died, police said.
The 27-year-old was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, after he was found in the city’s Balgreen Park on Friday, and died yesterday.
Police are trying to piece together his movements before he was found in the park in order to find out what happened to him.
They are keen to speak to two people who went to help the man, who had left his home in the area of Whitson Terrace at about 11.15am to walk his dog.
Detective Inspector Gordon McCreadie said yesterday: “Sadly the man has passed away in hospital.
“We continue to appeal for people to come forward to help us piece together his movements prior to him being found in the park.
“The park should have been busy at the time, and as there is no apparent reason for him to collapse we hope someone can remember seeing him and can help us find out what happened to him.
“We are also keen to speak to a man and a teenage girl who were dog-walking and may have gone to his assistance,” he added. “They left before we could talk to them and they may have vital information.”
