FORMER Runrig star-turned-SNP MP Pete Wishart has warned critics of Creative Scotland there is “no going back” to the days of arts bodies being “little more than a source of money distribution”.

FORMER Runrig star-turned-SNP MP Pete Wishart has warned critics of Creative Scotland there is “no going back” to the days of arts bodies being “little more than a source of money distribution”.

In an article on his blog, Mr Wishart mounted a defence of the arts being seen as “creative industries”.

He was responding to criticism of the vast remit of Creative Scotland, which includes computer, publishing, digital and design businesses, as well as film and television.
