BUZZ Aldrin, the second man on the Moon, was brought back down to Earth yesterday when snowy weather is believed to have forced him to take the train, instead of flying, to Edinburgh.

Aldrin, who will be 83 tomorrow, was in good spirits when he arrived at Edinburgh Waverley station from London King’s Cross.

During the journey, the man who made history as part of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission Tweeted, chatted and posed for photographs with fellow travellers.

One Tweet he posted read: “On the train fr Kings Cross to Edinburgh after numerous mishaps – our 1st class car is so full we’re slumming it in coach but all good.”

He was believed to be travelling to Edinburgh to give a private talk about his life and achievements.

After leaving Nasa, Aldrin, who served as a jet-fighter pilot in the Korean War, spent 21 years with the US Airforce Test Pilot School in California. He has been married three times and his third divorce was finalised last month.
