700 hedgehogs saved from cold

A RECORD number of hedgehogs were rescued last year, amid growing concern for the animals as temperatures dip across the country.

In 2012 a total of 707 hedgehogs were taken in by the Scottish SPCA, compared with 647 the previous year and 650 in 2010. ,
