Minister urged to be bold on youth

YOUTH employment minister Angela Constance has singled out £8.5 million which she says will create 1,000 jobs and 800 voluntary opportunities for young people.

The second tranche of funding from the £30m youth employment package announced in December will fund the continuation of the employment partnership Community Jobs Scotland into 2012-13, creating the jobs for young people at a cost of £6m.

Announcing the funding yesterday, Ms Constance said: “It is important that we build on the success of the initial pilot of Community Jobs Scotland within the resources we have available.”

Labour youth employment spokeswoman Kezia Dugdale called for more: “If the minister has a social conscience, then she should apply it by setting out to eradicate youth unemployment. Be that bold.”

What, like Glasgow City Council offering every young school leaver who is eligible being offered an apprenticeship. Are you telling me that is a crap idea?? Really? Are the SNP that out of touch?

Better than the daftie labour no hopers would manage-they are too busy looking after their OWN jobs (for the boys) such as in Glasgow council to be genuinely concerned about Scottish jobs.
