By–election victory for Scots Tories

Scottish Tories received a by-election boost in the only poll north of the Border on Thursday.

Graeme Tait won Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Annandale North seat. It was a gain from Labour, but both parties raised their vote share by virtually the same amount. The SNP slumped to fourth place, behind the Greens.
